Best Moisturiser for Dry Skin

Finding the best moisturiser for dry skin is like finding the Holy Grail; however for each and every person the Holy Grail is likely to be different. Every person has a different type of skin, therefore has different needs. While some commercial products such as Dove or Olay moisturisers are excellent and work well for the vast majority of people, others may have to try different moisturisers and methods in order to find which the best one for them is.

Other people take different approaches to moisturise their skin, such as taking milk baths once weekly. Mixing 250 to 300g of powdered milk into a lukewarm bath and taking a nice soak before rinsing off can really moisturise the skin well.

Home made face masks are also extremely popular. One of the best home made face masks is ½ an avocado (pureed) with ¼ cup of honey, which should be applied for 10 minutes before being wiped away with a cold water washcloth.

Another excellent facemask is one made of 1 cup of natural yogurt and ½ cup of oatmeal, which should be applied and left for 15 minutes before been wiped away with a warm water washcloth.

You may also wish to try tea tree oil, which can be purchased from Holland & Barrett or most pharmacists. Tea tree oil is excellent moisturiser with brilliant healing qualities which will help to repair dry and damaged skin. Tea tree oil is a very popular ointment for athlete's foot due to its strong anti-fungal properties.
